What a Website Costs in Israel, and What the Price Should Include

From ₪7,000 for an AI-designed site to ₪25,000 for a custom build. Eight lines to compare in every quote, the yearly costs after the build, and how to total the first year.

A business website from us costs from ₪7,000 for a site designed with AI, from ₪8,500 for a WordPress site, from ₪7,500 for a Shopify store, from ₪11,000 for a WooCommerce store and from ₪25,000 for a custom build, each plus VAT as required by law. But the number alone tells you little. Two quotes with the same price can include very different things, and a build price is only the first line of what a site costs in its first year. So compare every quote against the same eight lines, then add the recurring costs the quote does not show.

What are the eight lines to compare?

Ask each quote to say, in writing, what it states about each line. Ours, for the base site, is next to each one, with the question to ask and what a good answer looks like.

  1. Hosting and domain. The site, the domain and the hosting account are in your name. Ask: whose name is on the domain and on the hosting login? A good answer is yours, with the logins handed over at launch.
  2. Who owns the site. You do, with a short guide so you can edit text and images yourself. Ask: if we part ways, what do I take with me, and what does it cost? A good answer lists the files, the content and the accounts.
  3. Hebrew and right-to-left layout. Hebrew and English with correct right-to-left layout. Ask to see a page in Hebrew on a phone, with a form, a price and an English brand name inside a sentence.
  4. Written text. Who writes the copy. In our builds this is a module you choose, with its price shown before you save. A quote that is silent on text usually expects you to supply it.
  5. Updates, backups and a login that is hard to attack. Basic security is part of every build. Ask: who updates the software, how often, and how do I get the site back if it breaks? Ask when a backup was last restored as a test, not only when it was last taken.
  6. Accessibility to the Israeli standard, IS 5568. A module you choose, brought to the standard. Whether a given business is exempt is a question for counsel, not for the quote.
  7. Search basics. Titles, descriptions and a sitemap. Ask what is set up on day one and what is left to you.
  8. After launch. A 30-day warranty. Ongoing care is optional, monthly and cancellable. Ask what a fix costs after the warranty ends and whether there is a minimum term.

A page that does not mention a line has not necessarily left it out. It may simply not say. That is the point: when a quote is silent on a line, ask, and get the answer in writing. A low price that excludes ownership of the domain or any support after launch can cost more than a higher price that includes them.

What makes a website cost more?

Each of these changes the scope, and so the price.

  • Pages. Our base site has up to five pages: home, services, about, contact and one more. More pages are added in the builder, each with its price shown.
  • A store. A catalogue, cart and checkout move the build from a base site to a store platform: WooCommerce or Shopify. The WordPress, Shopify or custom site guide covers the choice.
  • Catalogue size. Up to 50 products is included in a store base. A larger catalogue is imported and checked from a spreadsheet, and above 300 products it is priced after we see how clean your data is.
  • Content. If you supply the text and images the site is faster to build. If we write it, it is a module.
  • Accessibility. A separate module, because bringing a site to the standard changes the work. Internet Society Israel's accessibility guide (updated 16 January 2024) says the duty depends on when the site was launched and on the business's annual revenue, so find out whether you are covered before you choose.

What do you pay after the build?

These are the recurring lines that a build quote rarely shows. They are the reason to compare the first year and not the build price.

  • The domain, every year. Ask the registrar for the renewal price, not the first-year price. Registrars price this differently: Cloudflare's registrar page (as captured on 17 May 2026) says it does not mark up domain prices, so you pay what the registries and ICANN charge. Whichever registrar you use, the domain should be registered in your name.
  • Hosting. Billed by your provider directly. WooCommerce's own pricing page (as captured on 17 June 2026) gives a range of 25 to 350 US dollars a month for most of its stores, rising with traffic. That is the vendor's figure for stores, not for a five-page site, and it shows how far hosting can move with the type of site.
  • Add-ons. The same page says WooCommerce itself is free, and that extensions are bought one by one at 29 to 299 US dollars a year each. Ask any quote for a list of the paid plugins and themes the site depends on, with their yearly prices.
  • A Shopify plan, if you choose Shopify. It is billed by Shopify to you, along with its payment fees. The numbers are in the WordPress, Shopify or custom site guide.
  • Care, optional. For a site designed with AI it is ₪450 a month plus VAT as required by law, and you can cancel it.

How do you compare quotes side by side?

Put your quotes in one table, one column each, with the eight lines as rows. Add four more rows: the build price, the yearly domain and hosting, the yearly add-ons, and the monthly care. Where a cell is empty, send a question. Then compute the first-year total for each quote: build price, plus twelve months of care, plus the yearly lines. If a quote does not offer care, add the price of the hours you expect to pay for when something breaks.

Two checks catch most problems. First, ask each builder what it costs to leave: the work to move the site, the domain and the content. Second, ask who pays when a plugin or the platform raises its price. The AI-designed website guide explains what the AI part does and what still needs a person, which matters when a low price depends on it.
